Communication-A-Major-worth

The Department of Communication at Wake Forest pursues the theoretical, critical, and scientific study of human communication in all its forms. In pursuit of that overall goal we advance three areas of concentration: communication science, rhetorical studies, and media studies. We encourage our undergraduate majors to explore a broad course of study in human communication, encompassing all our concentrations. The Department houses one of the finest Masters' programs in the country. We seek to provide our M. A. students with the individual attention and preparation they need to be highly sought after by, and successful in the nation's best Ph.D. programs in communication. So you were hullabalooing - I was wondering what was going on - next can you do a Milkshake Shenanigans??

We are saddened to announce the passing of Wake Debate legend Tod Woodbury (c/o '76). Tod supported Wake Debate for decades including attending many National Debate Tournaments to cheer on the Deacs in person. This photo is of Tod volunteering to time the final round of the NDT with Ross Smith judging beside him. One of Tod's signature lines was to insist on saying "Go Demons!" rather than the traditional "Go Deacs!" So we will say thank you, rest in peace, and Go Demons to Tod Woodbury. ... See MoreSee Less

This picture makes me so sad.

Oh no!!! So sad to hear this!!

Very sad. We have lost 2 good Deacons this week. Rest In Peace

Thanks to Tod for all the years of support for the Deacs. Including some of those 2 am squad room calls. ;)

Yes, I randomly took a few of those calls while playing Hextris at Ross's desk and using his phone (at 2AM Ross couldnt come and kick me out, and he didnt need his phone, right?)..clueless who this lawyer dude was, and yet somehow encouraged to stick with Debate as a new way of life....

Rick took a lot of those calls. I guess he and Tod and Ross can all hang out together, smoke, and watch debates from where they are now.
